School Enrollment Support

For children age 5-21, IRC can assist you with:

Initial school enrollment upon arrival
We connect with your neighborhood school(s) and district to get your children enrolled into school, enrolled into the Free or Reduced Lunch program, and advocate for transportation support.

School transfer support
If you move to a different house, our team can help give guidance to how you can transfer enrollments for your children to a new school.

School check-in support at start of new school year
Each new school year, your children are required to be checked-in to their school in August. We can help give guidance on how you can get your children checked-in so they’re ready to start the new school year.

Education advocacy
If there are issues at your child’s school (bullying, additional educational needs, parent meetings, etc.), our team can be a part of the communication with the school to best support your child’s education and success.

Daycare and Preschool

Children ages 0-4 are not required to attend school. We help refer families to local daycares and preschools for early intervention education and care for working families.

Youth and Family Programs

Our team implements, or helps search for, the following programming that takes place outside of the normal school day:

After school programming
We connect youth to partner programs at the school or in the community your family lives.

Tutoring
We connect youth to additional educational support either in the school, in libraries or partner organizations.

Parent and Family Engagement

To improve parent engagement in education our team can connect to parent meetings and events at the school, and additional resources at school. We also connect families from the same language and cultural background together at family day events.

Summer programs
Additional educational support and care are provided during summer months (June-July) when children are not in school by either helping them to enroll in a partner program or summer school, or enrolling in the IRC Lead summer program.
