The IRC in New York

The IRC in NY has assisted thousands of refugees, humanitarian parolees, Special Immigrant Visa Holders (SIVs), unaccompanied children, immigrants, and asylum seekers to become self-reliant and integrated in their new communities.

Our services in New York

Our programs for applicable clients in New York include:

  • Assisting clients from the moment they first arrive in the United States (includes housing, basic necessities, healthcare, and more)  
  • Job preparation training, resume preparation, and support searching for jobs
  • Academic and social-emotional learning programming for children and youth
  • High-quality, low-cost immigration support
  • Increasing food access and nutrition needs for clients
  • English classes for adults

Events and Classes

April Open Houses for Free Adult English Classes!

Enroll for classes in person at the IRC office at the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, April 1st 10am-4pm
  • Wednesday, April 2nd 10am-4pm
  • Thursday, April 3rd 4pm-7pm
     

All adults 18+ and residing in New York State are eligible. All immigration statuses are welcome. We have in person and online classes available for all levels, from introduction to high intermediate. Classes will start the week of April 7th and continue through the end of June. Students are expected to participate 6-9 hours per week for the entire cycle.
