The IRC in Wichita

Since opening in 2011 the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Wichita has welcomed over 2,500 people, supporting families while they navigate their new community and establish a sense of home in Kansas.

Our services in Wichita

The IRC in Wichita welcomes new refugee and immigrant communities to Kansas by providing eligible clients with the following:

  • Support with their basic needs after arriving in the United States, including airport arrival assistance, safe housing, healthcare, and education
  • Guidance and assistance with securing employment (includes resume preparation, job readiness training, and more)
  • Improving English language skills
  • Digital and financial literacy skills
  • Navigating enrollment in the public school system
  • High-quality and affordable legal services connected to the United States immigration system
  • Intensive case management for refugees who may need additional help finding stability in the United States
