After you are approved for admission to the U.S. as a refugee, and your case is assigned to the IRC in San Diego, your flight will be scheduled by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). When your flight is confirmed, the IRC San Diego will begin preparing for your arrival. If you have a U.S. Tie (family member or friend) attached to your case, we will reach out to let them know you are coming.

You will be greeted at the airport by an IRC employee. IRC staff will wear name badges so that you can identify them. You will then be driven to either a hotel, your family’s home, or to your permanent residence, if we were able to arrange this beforehand.
