Get Free Tax Filing Assistance in San Diego, CA

IRC can help file your taxes for free through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program! VITA is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and community-sponsored program designed to assist low-to-moderate income taxpayers with preparing their annual tax returns at no cost.

VITA Services

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) initiative designed to support free tax preparation service through partner organizations like the IRC. Clients can claim tax credits when filing depending on eligibility.

IRC provides tax filing services at our  El Cajon office from late January through April 15th.

Eligibility

The IRS has set the requirements below to qualify for VITA services:

  • Household income of less than $66,000 per year
  • Proof of identification, and Social Security or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) card
  • Supporting documentation

The IRS and the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) have different requirements for the various tax credits available.
