Resettlement Services at the IRC

Depending on how and when you arrive in the U.S., your country of origin, and other factors, the IRC may be able to assist you with services that address your immediate needs and help you become self-sufficient. Our initial resettlement services are funded mainly by government programs that focus on specific immigrant communities. Many services are provided in person by staff at IRC offices that you can visit in nearly 30 U.S. cities. The services available to you will vary based on your immigration status and other factors.

Asylum Seekers

If you entered the U.S. seeking asylum and are awaiting your hearing, most IRC offices are unable to assist you with basic needs, like food, shelter, and healthcare, due to limited resources. Other organizations or government entities in your area may be able to help. Once your basic needs are met, IRC may be able to help you to learn English, find a job, start or grow a business, obtain legal support related to immigration, and access other services that can help you achieve your goals.
