Financial Capability Services

The Financial Capabilities Program helps people in San Diego County manage their money better and build assets. We do this by offering one-on-one coaching, classes, and access to resources, with the goal of helping people become financially independent. In this program, you can learn about the US banking system, managing loans, building good credit, and budgeting, and boost your savings by accessing matching funds.

We also assist low-income East County clients with stabilizing their financial situation and fixing problems with their credit.

Digital Inclusion Project

The Digital Inclusion Project offers coaching and classes to San Diego City community members. Learn to navigate through basic digital tools, search and apply for jobs, protect yourself and your family from digital scammers and phishing, and how to support your child’s school progress and class/homework activities.

Our training is offered in multiple languages, and can teach you how to use computers and mobile phones better. You'll learn how to use apps like Zoom, Gmail, Google Translate, Google Drive and Google Docs for finding jobs, help your kids in school, and organizing daily activities. We'll also support you in accessing computers, securing no-cost or low cost internet and help make your home digitally secure.

Consumer Loan Services

The Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) offers small loans that are designed to help working families and newcomers to America. Contact us for further information.

To be eligible for consumer loans, you must first attend IRC financial coaching, and have or be eligible to open a bank account. Most loans require you to create a household budget and to earn enough income to repay your loan on time.
